Workstations that can be shutdown during power-outs can be equipped with medium size units that provide time to do the shutdown. Programs need to be closed first and then the entire workstation should be shutdown and turned off.
In your planning, do NOT forget about network hubs, switches and routers and internet connectivity devices like DSL and Cable Modems. Limit one computer or server per UPS unit.
UPS devices have batteries! Replace UPS units or batteries regularly!
When productivity needs to continue even during power failures then an automated generator solution is required. The generator needs to be serviced and maintained to provide this level of reliability.
